James Walker:

My work is based on extensive consulting and academic experience and has a psychodynamic orientation. Two awards for my work reflect this:

• Australian Federal Government commendation for delivery of major national initiative
• National Institutes of Mental Health (USA) award for teaching and research

In practical terms this combination of experience provide an effective and productive resolution of impasse. It focusses on both the obvious and latent dynamics which give rise to the impasse.

After teaching in Melbourne, I taught at the University of Southern California (medical campus), later at the American University Graduate School of Business (MBA program), and the Georgetown University Washington D.C. At the same time I practiced as an organisational consultant and coach which I continued on return to Australia together with clinical hospital and private psychotherapy practice, and served on the coaching panel of The Australia Institute of Company Directors.

I have published and presented, and conducted many workshops on organisational dynamics, coaching methods, and psychoanalytic topics.

My practice is based Melbourne and through Zoom.
