After teaching in Melbourne I studied, lectured, and practised in the United States . My initial psychotherapy training was in Gestalt therapy and psychoanalysis which I practised in the USA and then in Melbourne. Subsequent training with the Freudian School of Melbourne and the Australian Centre for Psychoanalysis and other programs.. Through Melbourne University’s hypnosis program I researched hypnosis applications for anxiety in sport.
My publications, presentations and workshops have been for: Australian Psychological Society, American Psychology Association, American Educational Research Association, Australian Centre for Psychoanalysis, California Educational Research Association, European Mentoring and Couching Council, The International Society for Psychoanalytic Study of Organisations, The Piagetian Society, and other organisations,. Concurrently with clinical practice here and in the USA, I consulted to institutions on project and strategic turnaround. My approach is psychodynamic which I have described in numerous conference papers and workshops and is a focus of the International Society for the Psychoanalytic Study of Organisations (ISPSO) for which I am a board member. Other consultancies include: American Association of Dental Schools, the American College of Cardiology, Occupational Therapy Australia, and others as shown at the linked page.
