Welcome to my site. I am pleased to offer support for well being and mental health

It is often difficult to distinguish normal development from possible mental health concerns for young people.

Mental Health First Aid and our Grandparent Support programs provide you with confidence and skills to support young people.

Mental Health First Aid Australia (MHFA), has trained more that 1.5 million people to help adults recognise and respond when a young person may be experiencing emotional distress or a mental health challenge. Much like a lifeguard watching the water, it’s about noticing early signs and stepping in when something doesn’t feel quite right. Sometimes support may not be needed, but at other times, that timely check-in can make a lasting difference for the person.

The training gives you the skills and confidence to recognise and offer early, appropriate support, if necessary. It also provides peace of mind, knowing you’ve done what you can, when it matters most.

See the MHFA video on the next page for more information.

Grandparent support for young people, focusses on how to resolve the frequent question for grandparents: “how can I effectively and peacefully contribute to the development of my grandchild’s “sense of self”? The half day program provides insight and skills for grandparents to support their grandchildren within the family network dynamics, friendship groups, social development, education, and other influences.

The ‘Wellbeing’ page provides more detail

The practice also offers psychoanalytically focused short-term counselling and psychotherapy for adults and young people seeking a clearer, more resilient sense of self. See the Counselling page for details.
