Our Approach
Family, friends, social media, school, sport, work and the wider community all shape how young people think, feel, behave and understand themselves. These influences are interconnected in what the United Nations calls the ‘Ecosystem’ and reflect what can happen in one part of a young person's life can affect their relationships, confidence, choices and wellbeing in other areas.
Wellbeing is more than the absence of mental illness. Both effect the person today and tomorrow.
The ecosystem directly effects wellbeing - positively or negatively and often elements of both.
National statistics show increases in stress, conflict, and mental health difficulties in young people.
Teaching how to recognise when a young person may be experiencing difficulties with the ECOsystem and knowing how to understand and support them, is our focus at Nurture Wellness.
Our programs provide the knowledge and confidence to recognise a young person’s difficulties with wellbeing and possibly mental health and to sensitively and effectively provide appropriate support.
